Counter-Strike 2.0 is a community made version of the original Counter-Strike 1.6 game, but with lots of modifications and improvements over the visuals and effects. Counter-Strike 2.0 (or CS 2.0) was made with the ideea of bringing the quality of the visuals from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (the next version of Counter-Strike game).

CS 2.0 pushes CS 1.6 game engine to its limits in terms of what the game can do and delivers a new experience for the old game developed by Valve Software Inc. and published on their popular platform called Steam.

A short history of Counter-Strike, the game was developed by Valve Software and released in its final form in around year 2000. The first game made by Valve was Half-Life (the original game) and Counter-Strike started as a mod of the Half-Life game.

Counter-Strike 2.0 is a very good Counter-Strike 1.6 modifications and delivers excelent game play. The game client was made by the community and shared as a Non-Steam version. Of course, the only flaw is that you can't play on Steam only servers, but that problem isn't as big as it was like in 2005. Nowadays most of the servers accept both protocols (no-steam and steam) so you don't have to worry about compatibility.
Also, Counter-Strike 2.0 comes with an updated Internet server list, so you won't have to search on different sketchy websites of a good server where to play.

CS 2.0 comes in a fairly small package/exe file (only 558 MB) and it is virus free, because the executable doesnt need administrator/system rights to be installed on the system and thus it can't modify files in your system.

You can press on "More info" and then another button appears saying "Run anyway". The file brings no harm to your computer as it doesnt needs system/admin rights to make modifications to your system/computer.
